Penelope's Baptism

Sweet Baby Penelope was recently baptized and I did her treats for the reception afterward.  Her mom ordered a cake and cookies to match the invitation she had made.

I purchased the sugar flower and cross at a local bake shop here in Houston.

The cookies were eventually packaged up but here's what they looked like before they were bagged.

She also ordered a small cake for her grandma's birthday.

Congratulations Baby Penelope!

Time Flies Birthday

A friend of mine just celebrated her little man's first birthday.  The theme was "Time Flies" and she played up the airplanes, vintage feel, and retro colors.   She has great taste and I knew she would come up with something clever and cute.

Here is the invitation she had personally made for the party

She only wanted decorated cookies and didn't want them packaged so here is the finished product:

The red and white ribbon isn't edible but I thought the "1" needed a little extra something. :)

All boxed up and ready to go!

Personalized Cookies

I pride my business on personalization and individual touch I give to each order.  This order for Engagement Party cookies epitomizes that aspect of Create.Bake.Love.

A friend was hosting an Engagement Party for her brother in law and wanted 80 cookies with a picture of the engaged couple on each cookie.  She sent over about 20 beautiful photos and I picked out five different pictures.  I had them printed on edible paper with edible ink.  I don't have that machine myself and I've done it online in the past, but it was a little last minute so I used a place here in town.  The quality was amazing.  Each picture turned out like a regular picture and not all pixel-y. The color turned out really nice too.

I've blurred out the pictures with the couple not wearing sunglasses for privacy purposes but I can tell you that they are a beautiful couple!

I made these tags with their initials and "Love is Sweet" for each cookie.  And then tied them with an ivory, sage green or lilac ribbon, which were the colors of their engagement party.

Congrats A & D on your engagement!

Boy, Oh Boy!

A college friend of mine contacted me to help make the treats for a shower she was helping host.  She sent over the invite and said the theme was just baby boy and the colors were navy, green, white and hints of burlap.  I love those colors!

She only wanted cupcakes and cookies and not a cake so I made some cute baby-themed cupcake toppers and simple baby cookies.  The cookies were going to be favors, so I packaged them up for guests to grab on their way out.

All packaged up with custom tags!
Don't you love the liners?  I've been searching for true navy liners for a while.  I finally found some and they were perfect for red velvet cupcakes.  The vanilla did much better in the green polka dot liners.

The cupcakes were red velvet with cream cheese and vanilla with buttercream.

Thanks for the order Jessica and I hope everyone loved the treats at the shower!

Office Baby Shower

I received an order for an office baby shower for a baby girl.  This customer has ordered from me before and always picks out adorable ideas.  She's a very detail oriented person, so her orders usually take me a little more time to make but I always love the finished product.

The cookies before they were individually packaged.

The cupcakes.  The shoes and bows were 100% edible.

Thanks for the order Julie!

Bump in the road but I'm back!

Well Hello!  It's been a while.

My family and I decided to move at the beginning of the year and I'm just now getting back into the swing of things.  I've missed documenting so many orders and wonderful celebrations.  I apologize to all my past two month customers that don't get their own dedicated post, but this is the best I can do right now. :)  I even missed a few orders because the camera was still in a box when the order was finished.  Hopefully some pictures were taken and I can get those to share with you!

Here are the birthday cakes:
I did a Charlie Brown birthday cake for a returning customer, Katie M

A cute Sock Monkey themed order- smash cake and cupcakes for little Landry!

A customer favorite, I did this cake again for a very sweet little girl who was also my old neighbor!

Her mom was doing a chalkboard theme, with her monogram, and a blush pink color for the accents.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the chalkboard cookies.  It was a first for me and I think they turned out so cute!

She also ordered some miniature cupcakes for the little guests at the party
And this was Vivian's smash cake

And the baby shower cake I have photos for:
It was an light grey & pink shower with elephants.  The grey fondant kinda showed up blue in some lights but it was light grey when I mixed it!

The coordinating cookies for guests to take home

I love the monogrammed cookies with polka dots.  I found something similar on Pinterest and I could resist!

Again, hopefully I can get a few photos of the cakes I didn't post because I would love to have them for me and share them with you!

Corporate Christmas Party

Y'all, I took an awesome order for a corporate Christmas party.  The customer has ordered from me before and knew I liked to do custom creations.  She emailed me several designs of cookies, cupcakes, and cakes and together, we picked out what to make for her office party.

Like most of my orders, many of the treats were a first!  I made some really cool cookies.

These ornament cookies were 99% finished.  I forgot to take a picture of them with their ribbon tied through the hole.  You still get the idea though.   All the ornaments were sprayed with the edible metallic spray.  They looked so good in person!  I added a few dragees on some of the ornaments.

These mitten cookies also had a hole through them so I could tie them together with string.  The customer found this idea online and I loved it!

And check out these cute little reindeer cookies!  I used a gingerbread man cutter and then just turned the cookie upside down.  These little guys were fairly time consuming with all the light and different colors but they were fun and really cute.

She also wanted some cupcakes.

I made some reindeer in snow, Christmas trees, and holly berries on chocolate cupcakes all of which were ideas found online.  Unfortunately I can't take credit for any of these cute ideas.

Finally, I made a beautiful Christmas cake.  This cake was huge!  The base board was 20"x 20"!

But it's not all real cake.  The bottom square and top round pieces are actually fake.  The only real layer is the middle, striped layer.   She didn't need to feed as many people as this cake would have fed so we just pretended. :)  Everything is made out of sugar except the red ornaments.

This was my last order before Christmas and it was such a fun one to end on.  Everyone loved the treats and I heard it was a great party!

Christmas Treats!

I didn't take very many orders in December.  I booked up rather quickly and I also left myself some room to stop and enjoy the season.  Looking back, I'm so glad I did because I was able to enjoy working on the orders I already scheduled yet not be too overwhelmed.   Plus, I have a little guy at home with lots of holiday activities to do! :)

These cookies were for a holiday cookie exchange party in the neighborhood.  I made extra for my Grandmother too because these are her favorite!

I really wanted to try the trendy metallic look on the cookies this year and I really like how some of them turned out.  I used an edible spray that you can find at most crafting stores in the baking aisle and lightly sprayed the cookies I wanted to have the metallic look.  If you notice closely on the white "Let it Snow" cookie, you can see some beading starting.  It probably got over sprayed or sprayed too closely.  I've done a little edible spray paint work before, but I have room to improve!  Oh, well, they still turned out pretty nice and it was fun to do.

I love the little Santas!

Next, I had a small order for a girl in the neighborhood for some mini christmas cupcakes!

Icy Polar Bears

Frosty and snowflakes!
I hope you had some tasty treats over the holiday break and a wonderful Christmas season!

Happy Birthday Luke

Luke turned one this past December and his mom loved the cake I did for my son's first birthday!  She wanted the exact same cake.  It was fun to make my son's cake again because I got to re-live his first birthday (which seems like forever ago!).  If you missed that post, click here.

I also made some cookies to go with the cake.  This was a small order but a cute one!

Happy 1st Birthday Luke!!!

KB Kasuals

Owner of KB Kasuals and family friend, Krista Burks asked me to make cookies for KB's annual Christmas Party!  Of course I said yes!

She wanted the logo on a round cookie.  If you go to her website, you'll see that the logo is black with white lettering.  I already had encountered my first dilemma.  Black icing makes everyone look like they got punched in the mouth.  And no one wants that at a holiday party.

So I had to get creative, which I love.  :)

As you can see in the photo above, I iced the cookies white and then laid a black circle made from an edible sugar sheet that I cut out.  I then piped the KB letters on the edible sugar sheet with white royal icing.  Then, finally, I added the red beading trim around in royal icing.

Half of the cookies were packaged and half were not.

And finally, because this shout out is pretty cool:

Thanks Krista for the order!

And you all need to go check out her store.  While I was there dropping off the cookies on the day of the party, I did a little pre-christmas shopping for myself.  I found a gem; an Amanda Uprichard shirt that looks awesome on!  I'm so excited about it. :)

Lilly's 2nd Birthday

The sister of this birthday girl was turning 2 and having a cupcake themed birthday party!  Her mom had already found her adorable outfit and needed a cake to match.

Lilly's Birthday Outfit!

Her mom wanted a cupcake cake with some cookies to go with.

I loved how it all turned out and how the cake matched Lilly's outfit.

However, this order had a minor setback.  :(  I got a call about 30 minutes after it was picked up that the top of the cupcake on the cake had fallen off!!!!  I was mortified.  Truly so sad for Lilly, Lilly's mom, and the cute cake.

Unfortunately, I couldn't remake the whole thing again because I didn't have the time.  I was able to make a small smash-size cake in the same design along with some cupcakes.

Smaller version of the original cake.

That was definitely a first (and hopefully last!) and I'm so sorry that happened to Lilly's cake.  I think she still had a pretty good birthday though (and she probably won't remember!) :)

Happy Birthday Lilly!
