Corporate Christmas Party

Y'all, I took an awesome order for a corporate Christmas party.  The customer has ordered from me before and knew I liked to do custom creations.  She emailed me several designs of cookies, cupcakes, and cakes and together, we picked out what to make for her office party.

Like most of my orders, many of the treats were a first!  I made some really cool cookies.

These ornament cookies were 99% finished.  I forgot to take a picture of them with their ribbon tied through the hole.  You still get the idea though.   All the ornaments were sprayed with the edible metallic spray.  They looked so good in person!  I added a few dragees on some of the ornaments.

These mitten cookies also had a hole through them so I could tie them together with string.  The customer found this idea online and I loved it!

And check out these cute little reindeer cookies!  I used a gingerbread man cutter and then just turned the cookie upside down.  These little guys were fairly time consuming with all the light and different colors but they were fun and really cute.

She also wanted some cupcakes.

I made some reindeer in snow, Christmas trees, and holly berries on chocolate cupcakes all of which were ideas found online.  Unfortunately I can't take credit for any of these cute ideas.

Finally, I made a beautiful Christmas cake.  This cake was huge!  The base board was 20"x 20"!

But it's not all real cake.  The bottom square and top round pieces are actually fake.  The only real layer is the middle, striped layer.   She didn't need to feed as many people as this cake would have fed so we just pretended. :)  Everything is made out of sugar except the red ornaments.

This was my last order before Christmas and it was such a fun one to end on.  Everyone loved the treats and I heard it was a great party!

Princess Allie's Royal Birthday

A mom in my Mom's bible study group sent over this cute invitation for her daughter's birthday.  I've smudged the private info out because I wanted to share how cute it is!

She wanted me to make a cake that would coordinate with the invitation.  The graphics are too cute so I knew I would have fun with this one. :)

I made the hills out of green modeling chocolate and added the glittery flowers.  I also made the castle from the invitation out of fondant.

I made the crown for the top.  Every princess needs a crown!

And here's the whole cake!  The princess on the side of the cake is just made out of fondant and I used an edible marker to make the eyes and smile.
If you see the princess on the side of the cake, you might see she's holding a star wand.  It was so cute when the birthday girl came to pick up her cake because she had a star wand in her hand.  It was perfect for her.

Happy Thanksgiving, two weeks late!

The holidays are a busy, busy time and yes, I'm about one month behind on getting posts up on the blog. :(  I've been doing some really fun orders lately and I don't want to miss out on highlighting them.

Here are some Thanksgiving cookies I made for a neighbor and a second batch for my family because I loved them so much.

I love the little turkeys. :)

I also made these Thanksgiving cupcakes for a different neighbor with the left over batter I had from another order.  They were delightfully excited to have some yummy fall cupcakes at their doorstep.

Tutu Cute!

Sutton is turning TWO and she is TUTU cute!  Cute theme.  Cute little girl.  It all works. :)

Sutton is our sweet little neighbor who had a birthday last weekend.  Her mom picked out an adorable (and perfectly fitting) theme for her party and asked me to help with the desserts.  She showed me a few ideas she liked online, and then I just ran with it.

I knew she was making tutus for the girls and bowties for the boys to wear at the party.  So this is what I came up with; cupcake stand and all!

We had bowtie butter cookies, and a varying assortment of tutu cupcakes!

I just love these.

Pink, purple, and a little more pink pretty much sums up the order.

Happy Birthday Sutton!  We had so much fun celebrating YOU!

Baby Shower for Baby Kate

Y'all, I might have a new favorite.

Last weekend, my friend had her baby shower and I got to make the cake!  I love doing orders for people I know.  Knowing them helps me tailor the cake design to something I know they will like.  But for this order, a friend of hers picked out the design.  And I'm so glad she did because she found a really cool cake idea online.

Here's what she picked:

So cool right?!

We changed a few of the colors to coordinate better with the shower, and I came up with some new button designs using molds I already had.

Here it is:

I love all the different buttons cascading down the side of the cake.  It's too cute!

I added some shimmer to the bottom layer to add a bit of gold to the fondant.  I also used edible gold shimmer dust on some of the buttons to make them look like gold.

I think the best photo is the one I caught all set up at the shower.

Happy Baby Shower Baby Kate!  We can't wait to meet you!
